There is no denying that teachers work very hard! There are long hours at school where teachers come in early and stay late for meetings, after school activities or to just get stuff done in our classrooms without students there. Don’t forget that then going home to work on lesson plans or making creations to enhance their instruction.
Making Teacher Self Care A Priority
One of the major pushes in the education world right now is “teacher self care”. In fact, just this morning, I sat in a faculty meeting where one of the presentations was about how we as teachers could incorporate more self-care into our daily lives. The problem with this talk is that most of us don’t really know how to relax or incorporate self-care into our lives when our plates are so incredibly full! I know I can’t relax when I have a lot to do. It just makes me anxious! I start worrying about all that I have to do so that makes me get up and start working on that to-do list.
The Effects of Not Practicing Teacher Self Care
The reality though is that if we don’t practice self-care, burnout and health issues ensue. Western Governor’s University has a fantastic article on teacher burnout here. Since I’m not good at relaxing, I have to trick myself into doing it. This is why I love the Teacher Care Crates. When mine arrives, I get so excited like a little kid on Christmas morning.
What to Expect in Your Crate
According to the website, subscribers can expect to receive “an inspirational art print, a bath & body item, a wearable item, a stationary product, plus 2-3 more items to help you let yourself rest.” Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see my reveal of my first Teacher Care Crate!
The Perks
When you first arrive at the home page of Teacher Care Crate (affiliate link), you will see a pop-up that when you submit your email address will give you 10% off your first crate!
Another perk is that you do not have to have a subscription if you don’t want to. You can just try a box and see how you like it. Also you can cancel a certain month’s box if it is not for you. That is what I did with the November 2023 box. Animal print is not my thing!
A third perk is that you get digital gifts for free and before the actual box comes!
A fourth perk only happens based on what subscription plan you choose. If you the 6 or 12 month plan, you get a free crate!
